After years of moral decline, Elijah confronted King Ahab and pronounced a judgment of drought with the hope that people would come to their senses and repent for allowing unrighteousness to reign in their land.
During this national time of drought and famine, God told Elijah to leave Israel and go to the brook, Cherith.
In this place of obedience, God sent ravens to bring bread and meat in the morning and evening.
