
Mark 4:38 “And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?”
We read in the previous verses how Jesus cast out demons, healed the sick and taught about the Kingdom of God. Yet, when the disciples were faced with a challenge, they questioned Jesus as to whether He cared. This was an insult to Jesus. They could have said …Lord we need your help…knowing that He had already demonstrated just how much He cared about them.
Do we sometimes question the Lord as to whether He cares about us? He may have seen us through many trials, giving us the victory. Yet, when faced with a new trial, we forget all that He has done and question whether He cares enough to help us through the present one. As we experience God’s willingness and ability to deliver us from evil and the trials that come into our lives, our faith should grow.
