Why do you complain to him
that he responds to no one’s words?
For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though no one perceives it.

After Job’s three friends failed in their attempt to convince Job that he was being punished for some wrong he had done, Elihu took a turn. And his approach was quite different. He was more concerned with defending God than Job’s guilt or innocence.
Job had complained that God was not responding to him. Elihu answered that God is greater than any mortal. And God does speak to us in a variety of ways. Elihu goes on to describe some of those ways. He may speak through your dreams, your spirit, your suffering, or another person’s words. In addition, God will often speak to us through the words of the Bible.
How Does God Speak to You?
If you are a child of God, you can be sure that he will respond to your prayers and cries for help. But, as Elihu pointed out to Job, God’s response may not take the form you are expecting….
