Repentance means to be sorry for our sins, and along with asking God for forgiveness, having no intention of continuing in sin. If we plan on holding on to the sins in our lives, we cannot truly repent. We can be forgiven even if we sin in the future due to the weakness of the flesh. However, we cannot fool God, who looks at the heart, that we are truly repenting if in our hearts we plan on holding on to a sinful lifestyle.
Sin also creates negative circumstances for sowing and reaping. Even though we are under grace, if we put our hand in a fire, we will get burned. Likewise, sin comes with consequences. I wish I had been born again earlier in my life. I lacked wisdom and made a lot of foolish mistakes. I was good at sinning. Most of my sins were against my own best interest and came with a price, Today, I am still not perfect, but God knows that my heart’s desire is to be the person…
