This past week I took a needed vacation in New England. Many of you know of my connections to that part of the country and to faithful Christian communities there. It was a wonderful trip. But I had an interesting time getting home to DC.
I decided to drive up in order to have a bit more flexibility, but when I stopped for gas on my way home about two hours into the return trip, my car wouldn’t restart. A tow truck was called and in just a few minutes the car battery was jumped, and I was back on the road. The technician, though, told me explicitly not to turn the car off until I was home.
Traffic was particularly bad along the East Coast that day, and in a strange twist my GPS took me right into New York City to avoid traffic on I-95.
